White hexagonal system granular crystal or powder, relative density 2.91 (25/4 ℃) melting point 283 ℃ boiling point 732 ℃, zinc chloride soluble in water, but soluble in methanol, ethanol, glycerol, acetone, ethyl ether, insoluble in liquid ammonia. Deliquescence is strong, can absorb moisture from the air and deliquescence. Has dissolved metal oxide and the characteristics of cellulose. Molten zinc chloride has good conductive properties. Hot is thick white smoke generation. Zinc chloride corrosive, poisonous.
