Is soluble in hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide, hydrochloric acid and perchloric acid mixture. Powdered platinum can absorb hydrogen, oxygen and carbon monoxide. Grey sponge metal, pure, no visible to the inclusion. Density: 21.45 melting point: 1769-1773 ℃ boiling point: 3827 ℃.
